The project “Solution and Services Engineering for Measuring, Monitoring, and Management of Organizations’ Environmental Performance Indicators” (OEPI) is an international research project supported by the European Commission. Nine partners with either industry or academic background from different countries and with varying competences are engaged in this project.

Vision of OEPI: Bringing Sustainability to the Daily Business

The vision of OEPI is that business users – across industries and supply chains – will be able to continuously reduce the environmental impact of their daily operations. To achieve this, they will have the visibility into the Environmental Performance Indicators (EPIs) of alternative decisions in corporate and supply chain operations.

Mission of OEPI

OEPI will work towards its stated vision by providing business users with an inter-organizational platform to provision and share environmental performance indicators across the supply chain in addition to consumption tools to leverage them in concrete business scenarios. The users will leverage these services to integrate EPIs into their daily business decisions, both in their enterprise and also across their supply chain.

Main Goals of OEPI

The main goal is the development of a set of standardized Environmental Performance Indicators (EPI) and a network solution for intra- and inter-organizational collection, management and reporting of EPIs. End users such as managers, project leaders and employees from the various functions of a company shall be able to use the platform for more environmental-friendly decision making and communication. They can access the platform through different consumption channels and the provided tools will allow for new ways of internal and external EPI management.
